Title: Hamburger Soup

1 ½ lbs. ground beef
1 onion, chopped fine
1 28 oz. can tomatoes
2 cups water
3 cans consomm&eaccute; ( or 3 beef bullion cubes dissolved in 3 cups water)
1 can tomato soup
4 carrots, chopped
1 bay leaf
4 sticks celery, chopped
chopped parsley to taste
2 tsp. thyme
pepper to taste
8 T barley
Brown meat and onions. Drain well. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Simmer covered for at least 2 hours. Serves 10.
