Title: Johnny Cake or Cornbread

½ cup butter
¾ cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten light
2 cups milk
1 cup flour
2 cups cornmeal
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Mix dry ingredients together well. Alternately mix the flour mixture and milk into the butter mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Serve warm.
