4 cups flour
8 tsps baking powder
4 T sugar
1 tsp salt
½ cup fat (lard, shortening, or butter)
Approximately 2 cups of milk or enough to make a soft dough. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in lard to make fine crumbs. Lightly stir in milk just to make soft dough. Knead a few turns to form a ball. Roll out and cut, then bake at 425° until lightly browned.
