Title: Mom’s Extra Special Macaroni and Cheese

8 oz pkg macaroni, cooked and drained
8 oz cheddar cheese, grated
1 large can tomatoes
1 T sugar
½ tsp dry mustard
½ - 1 cup chopped onion
½ - 1 cup chopped celery (including tops)
sprinkle of oregano
sprinkle of basil
1 tsp salt
dry bread crumbs
Cook onion and celery in a little butter in frying pan until soft but not brown. Add tomatoes, breaking into smaller pieces. Add sugar, salt, mustard and herbs. In a buttered casserole dish place a layer of macaroni, a layer of the tomato mixture, then a layer of cheese. Repeat to make 2 layers of each. Mix the top layer of cheese with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for about 1 hour.
