Title: Ginger Snaps
Submitted by: sness - June 21, 2006
If you follow this recipe EXACTLY you will get nice chewy delicately flavoured ginger snaps. They don’t snap unless you over bake them or they are left out so they should be called Ginger Chewies.
Cream together
¾ cup butter
2 cups sugar
Stir in
2 well beaten eggs
½ cup molasses
2 tsp vinegar
Sift and add
3 ¾ c flour
2 ½ tsp ground ginger
1 ½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cloves
Mix all ingredients until well blended. Form dough into ¾" balls and flatten with fingers to about ¼ - ½’ thick (not too thin) Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 325° oven for about 14 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.
